The new Adidas "Jabulani" ball was supposed to make this World Cup a high scoring one. This ball was obviously implemented because people love goals, and if there are tons of goals the average fan won't have time to decide that soccer/football is boring. Well the goal count is rising in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.....Finally. Yesterday we saw Diego Forlan come close to notching a Hat-Trick against South Africa, this morning we witnessed someone achieve it. Twenty-two year old Gonzalo Hiquain's Hat-Trick, along with the play makking ability of Lionel Messi and Park Chu-Young's own goal in the 16', helped Argentina cruise past South Korea 4-1.
The Korean's only goal came in the 45' when Lee Chung-Yong capitalized on a careless defense mistake by Martin Demichelis at the top of the 18-yard box. South Korea did create chances throughout the match taking 16 shots (2 on goal), but where on able to put it between the posts. Argentina took 18 shots (8 on goal), and all of their goals came from within the 6-yard box. Watch the Highlights in the video below.
