South Norwood based Crystal Palace FC's new owner is consortium named CPFC 2010, who purchased the team last week saving the Club from liquidation. BBC Sport reported that Hip-Hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs was also in talks to purchase the Club, but backed out because "it just wasn't the right business move for [him] at the time". Combs, who according to Forbes earns about $30 million a year, went on to say:
"If the situation comes my way and it's appealing, we can make the splash and, most importantly, build the right team and win … I'm into winning and if it's the right situation then I'm open to it."
As Soccer/Football continues to grow in popularity in the United States I wouldn't be suprised if more celebrities begin looking into an pursuing ownership of a team, in the States and abroad.
