Lionel Messi records a Hat-trick in an 8-0 rout of Almeria. Juan Manuel Lillo was fired as coach of Almeria as a result of the humilating loss. Maybe they should have a mercy rule?

Here is Almeria's statement after firing Lillo:

"The reason is purely sporting and comes after the bad results Almeria have suffered in recent weeks that have seen the side slip into the relegation places"

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola was obviopusly happy with the result and had this to say:

"We scored nearly every time we went forward, unlike other days.""It is not easy to describe a game that finished like that. I want to congratulate the team on their effectiveness."
