Inter Milan defeated Palermo today 3-1 to win the 2011 Coppa Italia. With Palermo defender Dorin Goian subbed out, Samuel Eto'o went on two score the first two goals of the game, in the 26' and 76'. Nothing seemed to go Palermo's way. Missed opportunities in final third added to Palermo's frustration. However, they continued to fight, and in the 88' Ezequiel Munoz finally put Palermo on the board. The new hope was short lived, just a few seconds later Ezequiel Munoz earned his second yellow and was sent off. Diego Milito hammered the final nail in the coffin with his goal in the 90', securing Inter's victory.

"It is an enormous win," Inter coach Leonardo said. "It has been a strange year for me and a strange year for Inter, but it was a good game and an important win for us.

"It was a very difficult game, but I am delighted with the attitude of our team. We didn't stop working and didn't stop fighting."

"We have grown and done some fantastic things over the last four years," Palermo midfielder Giulio Migliaccio said. "We showed how we could play tonight. It was always going to be difficult against Inter, but we can go home with our heads held high."
