Italian Midfielder Andrea Pirlo has announced that he will leave AC Milan. He made 284 appearances and 32 goals over the past 10 years with the club. This season Pirlo made 17 appearences, starting 12, and scored one goal for the Rossoneri. AC Milan just won their 18th championship. Pirlo, who turns 32 today, is expected to join Juventus. Pirlo told reporters: "after 10 unforgettable years, I want to thank the club and fans for all their affection."
Fellow Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf has yet to decide whether or not he will stay with the club. Defender Alessandro Nesta and Forward Filippo Inzaghi both signed a contract extension through 2012. Defender Thiago Silva extended his contract through 2016, and midfielder Mark van Bommel extended his contract through next season.
